Warsaw was occupied for longer time than other capitol cities in Europe by the nazis, from September 1st 1939 until January 15, 1945. This painting captures the emotions of that time and silently shows the sadness because of war, the melancholy of a difficult present, and at the same time the beauty and the hope of the flowers. A beautiful peace of art with a lot of history contained on it.
